Camarillo Air Show

(8/27/05) Andrew hosts Henry and me at the annual show. After a BBQ lunch in his hangar, next to his T-28, Blue Dog, we walk to the flightline for the show. We have fun watching the aerobatics and wandering amongst the many airplanes on display, but the Warbirds are the highlight, including a rare look at a Japanese Zero, on the ground and in the air.

Queen for a Day?

(8/21/05) We meet Jenn and her mom at Tupelo Junction for lunch, and then clown around in the baby store nearby.

(8/21/05) I know I shouldn't take pictures in church, but this was too cute not to take.

Hanging at Home

(8/19-20/05) We've been spending a lot of time at home the last few days after our week of travel. Jill has perfected the grilling of steaks, and here with Henry in a late night baking session, the creation of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.

Sitting Pretty

(8/19/05) Sitting is no problem now--we don't need to prop Evelyn with pillows. She can scoot a little bit and move around, and she's starting to lean forward into the crawling position. She wants so much to move around that we think she'll be crawling soon.

Homeward Bound

(8/13/05) After a great week, we make the long trip home, driving to New Bern and then flying to Charlotte, Denver, and Santa Barbara.

Jungle Golf

(8/12/05) We treat ourselves to a round of putt putt golf at Jungle Golf. Henry and Grandma look like pros out there. We cut our round short due to extreme heat, but we have a good time.

Scary Evening

(8/11/05) We take it pretty easy today, and spend the evening taking a pirate/graveyard tour in Beaufort. The tour is scarier than we expect and the kids are walking on pins and needles.

(8/09/05) After a good night's sleep, we spend the day on the beach before having dinner in Beaufort, followed by an official photo session. Check out Evelyn, the beach babe!

The Beach, 30th Anniversary

(8/7/05) Everyone turns out this year for the 30th annual trip to Atlantic Beach / Pine Knoll Shores, NC. The Arnsbarger and Dewey families, from three generations, pack condos and hotel rooms for the week. This year we have an extra event to look forward to as well--Lisa's wedding.

First Breakfast

(8/4/05) Evelyn has nibbled on Cheerios before, but today is her first official solid-food breakfast--rice cereal and applesauce. She smiles as she eats her first spoonfuls, and then when Mom looks away she grabs the bowl and tries to scoop it out with her rattle.

Checkups

(8/4/05) Evelyn and Henry are both due for checkups today. Evelyn, at six months, weighs 18 pounds. Dr. Brewer says she's ready to start eating cereal, fruit, and vegetables. Henry, at 3 years and 3 months, stands 40" tall and weighs 37 pounds. They both get shots. Henry only gets one, and doesn't even notice it as he digs through the treasure chest while Dr. Brewer adminsters the shot in the arm. Evelyn has several in her thighs, and cries for a little while after. The doctor reports that all is well.
